Undebtify

Privacy policy

The short version: everything you put into Undebtify stays on your iPhone. I don't collect it, see it or share it.

Who this covers

This policy covers the Undebtify iPhone app and this website. Undebtify is made by an independent developer in the UK. In this policy, "I" and "me" means the developer. You can contact me at support@undebtify.app.

What the app stores

The debts, payments, notes and settings you enter are saved on your iPhone only. They aren't sent to me or to any server. There's no sign-up, no bank connection and no online syncing.

Like any app's data, it's included in your iPhone backups if you use them (iCloud Backup or a computer). Apple handles those backups under its own privacy policy. Deleting the app deletes its data from your phone.

What the app doesn't do

  • No accounts. You never give me your name, email or anything else to use the app.
  • No analytics or tracking. The app doesn't record how you use it, and it doesn't track you across other apps or websites.
  • No adverts. There are no ad networks and no third-party code collecting data.
  • No selling or sharing. I have none of your data to sell or share.

Crash reports

If you've turned on "Share with App Developers" in your iPhone's Analytics settings, Apple may send me anonymous crash reports. These show where the app went wrong, not what you entered, and don't identify you. You can turn this off at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

If you email me

If you contact support, I'll see your email address and whatever you write. I only use it to reply to you and sort out your question. I don't add you to a mailing list or share your message. I delete support emails once they're no longer needed. Ask and I'll delete yours sooner.

This website

This site doesn't use cookies, adverts or tracking across other sites. It uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page visits. That works without cookies and doesn't identify you: I only see totals, such as how many people visited a page and which country they were in. Like any website, the company that hosts it may keep short-term technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the site running and secure. Links to other sites, like the debt charities on the help page, are covered by those sites' own policies.

Children

Undebtify isn't aimed at children and doesn't knowingly collect anything from anyone, of any age.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete any personal information I hold about you. In practice, the only thing I could hold is a support email. Contact support@undebtify.app and I'll help. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes

If this policy changes, I'll update it here and change the date at the top. If the app ever starts handling your data differently, I'll say so clearly before it happens.
